IS YOUR NAME WRITTEN IN HEAVEN?

Everyone has a name, names are important. All of us deeply appreciate those who know our names and can call us by our name.

Does God know your name? Does it make any difference if God knows your name? The Bible tells us that God has a book of names, called the book of life. The Bible, God's Word, tells us that persons whose names are not written in the book of life will be separated from God forever (Rev. 20:15). If our names are not written in the book of life, Jesus does not know us as part of God's family. Unless our names are written in that book, we will hear Jesus say, "I never knew you: depart from me" (Matt. 7:23). Your name can be written in the book of life today.

Read the following and fill in the blanks with your name as you read.

"For God so loved________________." God loves each person in the world, that includes you. In fact He loves you so much "that He gave His only begotten Son." Jesus is that Son. God's only Son came and died on a cross for you, He died so you could be saved from your sin (John 3:16).

"That if _______________ will believe on Him (Jesus)." Believe means being convicted and convinced by the Holy Spirit that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, then turning from your sin toward God and placing your faith in Jesus as both Savior and LORD. God will forgive you when you place your faith in Him (Acts 3:19).

"_________________should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If you do what God's Word says, your name will be writtten in the book of life and you will have the abundant life Jesus promised to those who follow Him (John 10:10). The Bible also says, "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Rom. 10:13).

Will you pray right now and ask Jesus to save you? Your prayer doesn't have to be all polished and perfect, God understands plain language. If you confess to Him that you know you are a sinner in need of a Savior and ask Him to save you He will.
